Maine Moose Hunts

Moose hunting in Maine is by permit only. A drawing is held each year in June. To buy chances for this drawing go to www.maine.gov/ifw  or http://www5.informe.org/online/moose/  . I guide in areas 8 and 14, usually the second week in October.

My scouting for moose starts in the middle of August. In 2 months I can pattern the moose you are looking for(usually a big bull). Arriving very early in the morning, or sometimes the night before because in Maine if you are there first you get to hunt that area. I always have several backup s just in case. We will set up depending on what you are shooting. I spend the entire time with you. We break for lunch around 11:00 A.M. and then back in hunting position for the rest of the day. Success rate is 100%.

This is because of a lot of pre-hunt scouting. My services include six days of fully guided moose hunting for the hunter and their sub-permittee, field dressing, loading of game onto trailer and trip to tagging station.

Also included is trip to taxidermist and/or butcher.

All hunts are 6 days. Moose $l,600.00
